- Reference substance:
- Reaction product of Hexamethylene diisocyanate, oligomers with Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane
- Reference substance:
- Reaction product of Hexamethylene diisocyanate, oligomers with Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane
- PBT status:
- the substance is not PBT / vPvB
- Justification:
The substance could not be demonstrated to be readily biodegradable in a modified MITI test according to OECD 301 C. The substance hydrolyses rapidly when coming upon contact with water. Its hydrolysis products - MPTMS and methanol are registered under REACH and were reported to have no P or vP properties. MPTMS showed a 51 % biodegradation in an OECD 301A study and methanol has a broad dataset showing its ready biodegradable properties. Therefore, the substance is considered to not have P/vP properties as well, based on the fast hydrolysis and its hydrolysis products. The substance hydrolyses rapidly when coming upon contact with water. The hydrolysis products - MPTMS and methanol are registered under REACH and were reported to have no PBT or vPvB properties. The substance itself showed no potential for bioaccumulation based on the very low partition coefficient (logPow = -0.36). The criteria for the Toxicity were also not fullfiled. Based on the assessment of the available data, the test item is not considered as PBT or vPvB.
