Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
inherently biodegradable, not fulfilling specific criteria

Additional information

Based on the available test data on structural analogues (e.g. straight run gas oils), it is clear that Renewable Diesel is expected to be not readily biodegradable in accordance with OECD criterion. However, it was shown in both the key and supporting studies available that degradation occurs within the 28 day test period which suggests that these complex substances are inherently biodegradable.
