Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.4 (Vapour Pressure)
GLP compliance:

Specific details on test material used for the study:
Batch no.: 3837
Appearance: white powder
Key result
Temp.:
20 °C
Vapour pressure:
<= 0 Pa
Key result
Temp.:
50 °C
Vapour pressure:
<= 0.008 Pa

The test substance had a vapour pressure of <= 1.1E-09 atm (<=1.2E-04 Pa; <=1.2 E-06 mbar) at 20°c and of 7.5E-08 atm (<=7.6E-03 Pa; <= 7.6E-05 mbar) at 50°C according to the definition in the OECD Guideline 104. The experimentally determined vapour pressure of the test substance at 20°C was not in the recommended range of 1 to 1000 mbar for DSC-measurements. Therefore, an estimation procedure in accordance with the test method OECD Guideline 104 was used. This method is applied for vapour pressures between 103and 10-7mbar.

Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, the vapour pressure of the substance was determined to be 1.2E-04 Pa at 20°C and 7.6E-03 Pa at 50°C.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the vapour pressure of the substance according to OECD Guideline 104. The vapour pressure of the test substance was determined by dynamic method and Grain-Watson Method.The experimentally determined vapour pressure at 20°C was not in the recommended range of 1 to 1000 mbar for DSC-measurements. Therefore an estimation procedure "Grain-Watson method" was used. This method is applied for vapour pressures between 103 to 10-7mbar. The vapour pressure of the test substance at 20°C and 50°C was determined using equations. Under the study conditions, the vapour pressure of the substance was determined to be 1.2E-04 Pa at 20°C and 7.6E-03 Pa at 50°C (Kintrup, 2016).
