Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Flash point: 268 °C at ca. 1013 hPa (ISO 2592, Cleveland open cup method)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
268 °C

Additional information

The flash-point of the test substance was determined by Cleveland open cup method according DIN ISO 2592 / ASTM D92. Since the measured flash-point is far above the classification limit and above 200 °C the open-cup method is accepted.

Consideration on the different grades

The components of the UVCB substance are essentially composed by the same subunits: a "starting unit" and one or more "repeated unit". The two grades of the substance differ by the presence of "bigger" components in Grade Two.

Based on this difference, a higher flash point can be expected for Grade Two compared to Grade One.

As the measured flash point lead to consider Grade One as non flammable, this result is considered to be sufficient to cover also Grade Two.
