Additional information

Amines, C12-14-tert-alkyl, mixed sec-Bu and iso-Bu phosphates (CAS 96690-34-5) is an UVCB substance comprising amine components and organophosphate groups.

The amine components of the test substance are generally resistant to hydrolysis because they do not contain any hydrolysable functional groups.

Experimental data investigating the hydrolysis of the organophosphate component of Amines, C12-14-tert-alkyl, mixed sec-Bu and iso-Bu phosphates (CAS 96690-34-5) are not available. Therefore read across data available for the structurally related substance Amines, C11-14-branched alkyl, monohexyl and dihexyl phosphates (CAS 80939-62-4) were used.

This read-across is in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5 and justified in detail in the overall summary (IUCLID Chapter 6.1) and within the analogue justification attached in IUCLID Section 13.

The available study was performed according to OECD 111. At pH 4 and 9 less than 10% of hydrolysis was observed. In addition, no increase of the expected hydrolysis product n-hexanol was observed. Half-life for hydrolysis was not determined.

Based on the results it can be concluded that the amine components of the test substance are generally resistant to hydrolysis whereas the organophosphate groups hydrolyse slowly in contact with water.
