Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Particle size distrubution was performed by sieving the waxy flakes with filters of different mesh sizes and weighing the residual substance on each sieve.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
sieving
Type of particle tested:
agglomerate
Type of distribution:
mass based distribution

Final Results

The major part of the sample (82.39 wt%) has a particle size ≥ 1.5 mm. The range of the particle size is 0.071 mm to 5 mm. The waxy flakes contain a maximum of 0.15 wt% material with a diameter < 100 µm.  No particle is below a diameter of 71 µm.

Description of key information

Range of the particle size is 0.071 mm to 5 mm (sieve method).
