- The Pensky-Martens apparatus cannot be used, because the appearance of the test substance prevents the continuous stirring. Therefore, from the mentioned test methods in A.9 only the test procedure (5)21 N04005.03 was used. In difference to the test method (5)21 N04005.03 the flash point determination was carried out by taking 2 resp. 4 g of the test substance instead of 2 resp. 4 mL.

- Under the study conditions, the test substance shows a flash point at a temperature of 98.0°C (1013 mbar).
- Executive summary:
A study was conducted to determine the flash point of the test substance according to EU Method A.9. The Pensky-Martens apparatus could not be used, because the appearance of the test substance prevents the continuous stirring. Only the test procedure (5)21 N04005.03 was used. In difference to the guideline the flash point determination was carried out by taking 2 resp. 4 g of the test substance instead of 2 resp. 4 mL. Examined temperature range was of -30°C - 300°C by Seta flash 7 as rapid tester. Under the study conditions, the test substance shows a flash point at a temperature of 98.0°C (1013 mbar) (Kintrup, 2017).
