Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Ecotoxicological information

Toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods

Administrative data

Endpoint:
toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods: short-term
Data waiving:
exposure considerations
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In accordance with the ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment, Chapter R.7c (version 3.0; pages 134-135): in the case of readily biodegradable substances which are not directly applied to soil it is generally assumed that the substance will not enter the terrestrial environment and as such there is no need for testing of soil organisms.
As this substance is readily biodegradable and is only used in an industrial setting there is no need for testing of soil organisms.
In addition, in accordance with REACH Annex IX, section 9.4, Column 2, the equilibrium partitioning method may be applied to assess the hazard to soil organisms. Using the already available information on the substance and this method a reliable PNECsoil is determined, which does not need to be refined. Also therefore no further information on terrestrial organism toxicity is required.
