First-aid measures

Description of first-aid measures
- General advice: Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
- Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
- Skin contact: Wash off immediately with plenty of water. If skin irritation persists, call a physician. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
- Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
- Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
- Protection of First-aiders: Use personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
- Notes to physician: Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media.
- Suitable Extinguishing Media: Dry chemical, CO2, sand, earth, water spray or regular foam. Move containers from fire area if you can do it without risk. Dike fire-control water for later disposal.
- Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire. Cool containers / tanks with water spray.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
- Thermal decomposition can lead to release of irritating gases and vapours. Runoff may pollute waterways.

Advice for firefighters
- As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
- Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use personal protective equipment.
- Ventilate the area.

Environmental precautions
- Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Should not be released into the environment. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
- Methods for Containment: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Dike to collect large liquid spills.
- Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material. Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers. If liquid has been spilt in large quantities clean up promptly by scoop or vacuum. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
- Advice on safe handling: Prevent splashing and leaking of product. Prevent the formation of vapours, mists and aerosols. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing vapours or mists. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Wear personal protective equipment. Wash thoroughly after handling.
- Hygiene measures: Do not eat, drink or smoke during work. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, or using tobacco. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
- Technical measures/Storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Keep in properly labelled containers.
Flammable Liquids Regulations, VbF (Germany): Not applicable

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls
- Engineering Measures: Apply technical measures to comply with the occupational exposure limits. Where reasonably practicable this should be achieved by the use of local exhaust ventilation and good general extraction. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Personal protective equipment
- Eye Protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles, If splashes are likely to occur, wear: Face-shield.
Hand Protection: Rubber/neoprene or other suitable chemical resistant gloves.
- Skin and body protection: Long sleeved clothing, Impervious gloves, Chemical resistant apron, Rubber or plastic boots.
- Respiratory protection: When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators, When using a mask or half mask: Respirator with a vapour filter (EN 141), Type A, (aerosol), The use of breathing apparatus must comply strictly with the manufacturer's instructions and the regulations governing their choices and uses.

Hygiene measures
- Provide regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Avoid breathing vapours, mist or gas. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use personal protective equipment as required. Keep working clothes separately. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

Environmental Exposure Controls
- The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity
- Not applicable

Chemical stability
- Stable under recommended storage conditions

Possibility of hazardous reactions
- Hazardous Polymerisation: Hazardous polymerisation does not occur
- Hazardous Reactions: None under normal processing

Conditions to Avoid
- Exposure to air or moisture over prolonged periods. To avoid thermal decomposition, do not overheat.

Incompatible Materials
- Strong oxidising agents
- Strong acids
- Strong bases

Hazardous Decomposition Products
- Carbon oxides
- Sulphur oxides
- Tin oxides

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods
- Waste from residues/unused products: Dispose of in accordance with the European Directives on waste and hazardous waste. Can be incinerated, when in compliance with local regulations.
- Contaminated packaging: Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling site for recycling or disposal. Do not re-use empty containers.
- Other information: According to the European Waste Catalogue, Waste Codes are not product specific, but application specific. Waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used.
