Description of key information

Data appear to indicate that 2-Cyanopyridine would likely be ultimately biodegradable since the third subculture achieved 61% degradation after 7 days. This is approaching a rate that could be considered readily biodegradable in a more contemporary test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
inherently biodegradable
Type of water:
freshwater
