Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid having a melting point <= 160°C

Description of key information

Self-ignition is not considered to be relevant for substance Fatty acids, C18-24, zinc salts.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The study does not need to be conducted for a solid substance that has a melting point < 160°C, or if preliminary results exclude self-heating of the substance up to 400°C (cf. Annex VII, section 7.12, column 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006). This solid substance has a melting point of 119°C and starts to decompose at a temperature > 320 C. Further on, in a DSC analysis up to 250 °C and a TGA up to 1000 °C (section 4.2 Melting point und 4.3 Boiling point) was no self heating of substance Fatty acids, C18-24, zinc salts reported.
