Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

21d-NOEC (parental weight) 48.8 mg/l for Daphnia magna (OECD TG 211)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The chronic toxicity of EDTA-MnNa2 to Daphnia magna was investigated in a Daphnia reproduction test, performed according to OECD TG 211 under GLP (Gyimesi, 2010). In this test, parental weightwas found to be the most sensitive endpoint based on the EC10values.

An EC10and EC50for parental weight were determined at 91.9 mg/L and 397 mg/L, respectively. The EC10and EC50for reproduction were 198 mg/L and 365 mg/L, respectively. Using Dunnett’s test, the Lowest Observed Effect Concentration (LOEC) was found to be 156 mg/L for parental weight. Based on these statistical results the NOEC is 48.8 mg/L.

The EC50for parent survival could not be determined because only two animals died during the test.
