Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeabilty (BCOP) test, study cannot be used for classification for eye irritation or serious eye damage according to the criteria of the CLP regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. However, based on the non classification for skin irritation based on in vivo testing, an in vitro eye irritation score of 7.47 and according to the precautionary principle, the preferred approach is to opt for a worst case classification as Eye Irritant cat. 2 (H319).
