Justification for classification or non-classification

Genetic toxicity:

According to section 3.5.2.3. of Annex I of the CLP Regulation N° 1272/2008 the test results of in vitro genotoxic test shall be considered for the classification of the test item for mutagenicity. Only one Ames study is available to evaluate the genetic toxicity and to decide on the classification and labeling. No biologically relevant increase in revertant colony numbers of any of the five tester strains were observed following treatment with the test item at any concentration level, neither in the presence nor absence of metabolic activation. Based on the available information, the test substance needs not to be classified as genotoxic/mutagenic.
