Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Acute toxicity data are available for aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia) and aquatic plants (algae).

The EC50 for both aquatic invertebrates (measured at 48 hours) and aquatic plants (measured at 72 hours) were above 1 mg/L. In accordance with Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (including amendments to May 2017) (the CLP Regulation), Annex I Table 4.1.0(a) SIBE138 does not meet the requirements for classification as Acutely Toxic to the aquatic environment.

In the absence of chronic toxicity data, chronic aquatic toxicity will be considered with reference to ready biodegradability and the available acute toxicity data (c.f. CLP Regulation, Annex I, Table 4.1.0(b)(iii). The most sensitive species for which acute toxicity data are available is Daphnia (EC50 = 1.50 mg/L based on the measured concentration). On the basis of the 48-hour EC50 in Daphnia and on the basis that SIBE138 was found not to be readily biodegradable, it is considered that SIBE138 meets the criteria for classification in Chronic Category 2.
