Renewable hydrocarbons, C15-C18, branched alkanes have been shown to have a very low toxicity towards organisms, with NOELR values equal or higher than 1000 mg/l for all species (algae, crustacean and fish).

Renewable hydrocarbons, C15-C18, branched alkanes, , does not demonstrate acute

fish and invertebrate toxicity, and alga toxicity at loadings up to 1000 mg/L. In addition. Alga 72-hour

NOELR values are >1 mg/L. It is readily biodegradable, the log Kow value is >4, and there is evidence

of rapid degradation in the environment based on a high extent of biodegradation demonstrated in water

and soil.
