Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Type of method:
method to determine freezing temperature
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
< -20 °C
Atm. press.:
101.325 kPa

The test sample was held at -21°C for approximately 24 hours. Flow restriction was observed but no crystallisation.

Conclusions:
Under the conditions of the study, no freezing point was detected down to a lower temperature of -20°C. The freezing point of the test substance is <-20°C
Executive summary:

The freezing point of the test material was investigating using apparatus for the determination of freezing temperature according to method A1 as detailed in regulation 440/2008. The test substance was placed in jacketed glassware with cooling. During cooling the temperature was measured at regular intervals (every 0.5 mins). The freezing point would be recorded when the temperature remains constant for a number of readings, or crystals are observed in the sample. The temperature range of the equipment is -20°C - 150°C. No freezing point was detected for the test substance. The sample was then held at -21°C for approximately 24 hours. Flow restriction was observed, but no crystallisation. The freezing point of the test substance is <-20°C.

Description of key information

Under the conditions of the study, no freezing point was detected down to a lower temperature of -20°C.  The freezing point of the test substance is <-20°C determined according to

method A1 as detailed in regulation 440/2008

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-20 °C
