Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The EPISUITE predicted bioaccumulation factor (BCF) is 3.16 L/kg (wet-wt). The test article is not predicted to bioaccumulate.

With regard to terrestrial bioaccumulation at the screening level, two facts need to be considered. Due to its very low water solubility and a predicted log Kow of 15 the bioavailability through uptake via passive diffusion is considered very low, which limits the potential for bioaccumulation for aquatic as well as terrestrial organisms. However, as the substance is a fatty acid derivate, it cannot be excluded that other uptake mechanims (active absorption) may play a role. The same fact makes it equally likely that once absorbed the substance is metabolised via physiological pathways of fatty amide and fatty acids and will be part of the natural fat metabolism and not accumulated as such.

Therefore the qualitative weight of evidence analysis in the screening assessment does not indicate that there is a concern for bioaccumulation.
