Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient and the adsorption potential of this substance is related to this parameter
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly
Reason / purpose:
data waiving: supporting information

Description of key information

A waiver is proposed for the adsorption/desorption endpoint in line with Column 2 of Annex VIII of the REACH regulation.  Based on physicochemical properties (i.e. log Pow = 0.42) the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption, since the log kow is below the trigger of 3. Given this no further information on soil adsorption/desorption is required. In addition, in accordance with REACH Annex VIII column 2, the study does not need to be conducted as the substance is readily biodegradable. As such removal in the environment is expected to be rapid.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
