Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
other: Company Data
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
Not specified
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Dynamic differential scanning calorimetry was used to determine the melting point of the test material.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
>= 210 - <= 250 °C
Decomposition:
yes
Remarks:
Complex multi-step decomposition takes place before and after the melting point
Conclusions:
Under the conditions of this study the melting point of the test material was from 210 to 250 °C.
Executive summary:

Dynamic differential scanning calorimetry was used to determine the melting point of the test material.

An exothermal decomposition above 208 °C during and after the melting with medium power (DH = -370 J/g -> adiabatic temperature rise DTad = 205K) was detected.

In the Grewer oven no significant exotherm was detected up to the melting point at approx. 210°C.

Under the conditions of this study the melting point of the test material was from 210 to 250 °C.

Description of key information

Under the conditions of this study the melting point of the test material was from 210 to 250 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
