Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures:
General advice: Move out of dangerous area. Consult a physican.
If inhaled: Move person to fresh air. Seek medical advice.
In case of skin contact: Rinse with plenty of water and soap.
In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical advice immediately.
If swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice immediately.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Causes skin irritation. Causes serious eye damage. May cause respiratory irritation.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treat symptomatically. In case of difficulites after dust inhalation seek medical advice immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media:
Suitable extinguishing media: All means (e.g. water spray, alcohol resistant foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical extinguisher).
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Strong water jet.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
In case of fire, the product may emit toxic and/or irritating fumes: Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide Nitrogen oxides (NOx), hydrogen chloride, clorine (traces)
Advice for firefighters:
Special protective equipment: Use self-contained breathing apparatus.
Further information: Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Avoid discharging extinguishing water in the environment. Avoid dust formation and accumulation)
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Use PPE. Avoid dust formation. Avoid breathing vapours/dust. Evacuate not informed and/or not protected persons.
Environmental precautions:
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Discharge into the environment must be avoided. If this happnes, inform competent authorities.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Pick up mechanically. Avoid dust formation. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid formation of dust and aerosols.
Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed.Normal measures for preventive fire
protection.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place
