EC number: 609-461-8 | CAS number: 376653-36-0
The 24h, 48h, EC50 value: > 0.137 mg/L (measured)
The 48h EC100 value: > 0.137 mg/L (measured)
The 48h NOEC: 0.137 mg/L (measured)
The 48h LOEC: > 0.137 mg/L (measured)
The Acute toxicity of the Test Item (BAL0001022) on Daphnia magna was assessed in an Acute Immobilisation Test over a period of 48 hours.
As no toxic effect was observed at the maximum solubility level of the Test Item used in the preliminary test, only one Test Item concentration (at 100% saturated solution[based on a 100 mg/L loading rate; the solution is considered to be saturated]) and one Control group were tested in a Limit test in the definitive study.
The corresponding measured geometric mean Test Item concentration was: 0.137 mg/L. The biological results are expressed based on this measured concentrations.
In the assay, groups of Daphnia were exposed to either the test or control items and the effects on their mobility assessed.
Under the conditions of this Daphnia magna acute immobilisation study observed and calculated endpoints for the effect of Test Item were the followings:
Based on the results of this study, the Test Item had no toxic effect at saturation on the Daphnia therefore; the EC50 and the LOEC results are higher than the exposure concentration of 0.137 mg/L (measured) in the test medium.
