First-aid measures

- Following inhalation:

Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately, If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid if cough or other symptoms appear.

- Following skin contact:

Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

- Following eye contact:

Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower lids. Get medical aid.

- Following ingestion:

Get medical aid. Wash mouth out with water.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Use a foam, carbon dioxide or Halon extinguisher.

- Advice for fire fighter: As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: First remove all sources of ignition, then you should dampen the solid spill material with acetone and transfer the dampened material to a suitable container.

Use absorbent paper dampened with acetone to pick up any remaining material. Seal your contaminated clothing and the absorbent paper in a vapor-tight plastic bag for eventual disposal. Solvent wash all contaminated surfaces with acetone followed by washing with a soap and water solution. Do not reenter the contaminated area until its verified that the area has been properly cleaned.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Avoid breathing dust, vapor, mist or gas. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store protected from light in a cool, dry place in a tightly closed container.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Organisational protection measures: Facilities storing or utilizing this material should be equipped with an eyewash facility and a safety shower.

Hand protection: Wear appropriate gloves to prevent skin exposure.

Body protection: Wear a chemical apron.

Eye protection: Wear chemical goggles.

Respiratory protection: Where the neat test chemical is weighed and diluted, wear a NIOSH- approved half face respirator equipped with a combination filter cartridge, i.e. organic vapor/acid gas/HEPA
