Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

Description of key information
In a study according to OECD 201 algae were exposed to a formulation of the substance at 9.4, 20.7, 45.5 and 100 mg/L during 72 hours. Effects on biomass and yield were reported at all concentrations, but growth rate was affected at 20.7 mg/L. Based on active ingredient the EC50 for growth rate is > 100 mg/L and the NOEC for growth rate is 9.4 mg/L. The publication contains only limited information and it is not clear whether other components of the formulation may have influenced this result. In addition it is not clear whether the color of the substance has interfered with the results (Darsana 2015).
