Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key result
Atm. press.:
1 008 mBar
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
> 300 °C
Remarks on result:
other: Boiling point not determinable; test material decomposes at temperatures above approx. 300 °C without boiling

As the boiling tube was heated, gradual darkening was observed at elevated temperature, but no boiling below 360˚C. As it was difficult to ascertain the onset of this apparent decomposition, DSC was also employed to further investigate.

The DSC trace showed significant exotherms above approximately 300˚C, consistent with decomposition of the test substance (observed to be a black solid after testing). Slight deviation from the baseline at lower temperature (and some discoloration seen over the same temperature range during the Siwoloboff test) may have been attributable to minor components.
