Crystallization and melting of MTDID 49220 were not observed by experiments on the DSC (range = approximately -90 °C to 400 °C). Two subsamples of MTDID 49220 were then placed in freezers for 66 hours at -19.3 ± 0.5 °C and at -83.4 °C ± 1.8 °C, respectively. After storage, it was visually observed that the test substance was a liquid. Based on this it was concluded that the melting temperature of the test substance is < -80 °C.

The melting point of MTDID 49220 was tested using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Crystallization and melting of the test substance was not observed by DSC. Two subsamples of MTDID 49220 were then placed in freezers for 66 hours at -19.3 ± 0.5 °C and at -83.4 °C ± 1.8 °C, respectively.
