According to Annex XIII of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 a PBT and vPvB assessment shall not be conducted for inorganic substances.
2-ethylhexanoic acid, cerium salt is an inorganic substance (cf. International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), (2005): Nomenclature of Inorganic Chemistry. Issued by the Division of Chemical Nomenclature and Structure Representation in collaboration with the Division of Inorganic Chemistry), thus a PBT and vPvB assessment is not required. However, 2-ethylhexanoic acid, cerium salt consists of cerium cations and 2 -ethylhexanoate anions. The latter are not persistent, bioaccumulating and thus not PBT or vPvB.
