Description of key information

This material is considered as not bioaccumulative based on predictions obtained from the BCF base-line model (v.02.09) in OASIS Catalogic (v5.12.1). This material is a tertiary alkyl amine made with 2-ethylhexyl, methyl, and tallow; the tallow has an alkyl range of C14-18. All three main target structures (C14, C16, C18) were modeled.

-       C14 (CCCCCCCCCCCCCCN(C)CC(CC)CCCC): BCF of 6.9

-       C16 (CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCN(C)CC(CC)CCCC): BCF of 7.4

-       C18 (CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCN(C)CC(CC)CCCC): BCF of 7.4

The detailed results are available in the modeling reports in QPRF format attached in the IUCLID dossier. All 3 structures were 100% in the parametric, structural, and mechanistic domain of the model and, therefore, the prediction is considered to have high confidence.

The predicted BCF values are very low and indicate this material will not bioaccumulate. The primary factor for the low BCF prediction is the extensive metabolism; the metabolism and pathways can be found in the QPRF. Extensive metabolism is consistent with the toxicokinetic assessment of this material. Size exclusion, preventing uptake, also decreases the BCF but to a lesser extent.
