Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.9 (Flash-Point)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
ISO 3679 (Determination of flash point - Rapid equilibrium closed cup method)
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
equilibrium method closed cup
Flash point apparatus:
Setaflash apparatus
Key result
Flash point:
223 °C
Atm. press.:
1 013 hPa

A test, carried out with the Rapid tester (Seta Flash Serie 8) according to DIN EN ISO 3679 showed a flash point of 223.0 °C.

Measuring date: 2017-06-07/08/09

Actual air pressure: 1004 / 1010 / 1005 hPa (corrected: 1013 hPa)

By the further flash point determination with the Pensky-Martens apparatus (PMA) the test item showed a flash point of >243 °C. Up to 243 °C no flash point was detected.

Final results

The test item shows a flash point at a temperature of 223.0 °C according to EU method A.9. (by means of rapid tester - closed cup system, according to DIN EN ISO 3679).

Description of key information

Flash point = 223 °C at 1013 hPa (EU Method A.9, Closed Cup - Setaflash apparatus)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
223 °C
