Reliable data on the acute aquatic toxicity of Fatty acids, C8-10, oxybis (2-hydroxy-3,1-propanediyl) esters (CAS 92044-91-2) are available for fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae.

The short-term toxicity of the substance to fish was determined in a study according to OECD guideline 203. No effects were observed in this study. At test termination after 96 hours a LC50 of 260 mg/L (LC0: 65.0 mg/L) based on nominal test substance concentrations (loading rate) was determined. The acute toxicity of the substance to aquatic invertebrates was investigated in a static limit test according to OECD guideline 202 (GLP). An EL50 (48 h) of >100 mg/L (NOELR ≥ 100 mg/L) based on the nominal loading rate (WAF) was determined. In a guideline study following OECD guideline 201 (GLP) conducted Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata as test organism an ErL50 (72 h) >100 mg/L WAF (nominal loading rate) was determined. The ErL10 (72 h) was > 100 mg/L WAF (nominal loading rate).

The toxicity of Fatty acids, C8-10, oxybis(2-hydroxy-3,1-propanediyl) esters (CAS 92044-91-2) to activated sludge microorganisms was tested according to DIN 38412-27 with Pseudomonas putida. At test termination after 30 minutes an EC50 of 3200 mg/L (EC0 of 100 mg/L) based on nominal concentrations was determined.
