Test solutions

Vehicle:
no
Details on test solutions:
Preparation of the test solutions: Five test solutions (100 - 200 - 400 - 800 - 1600 mg/L were weighed out) were individually prepared with ASTM very soft water (acc. to ASTM E729-96 (2002)) prior to the start of the exposure (at 0 hours) as well as prior to the renewal of the test solutions (24 hours). The test solutions were mixed thoroughly by manual agitation. The test solutions were checked via laser beam (Tyndall effect) for undissolved test item. The Tyndall effect was negative in all concentration levels.

Test concentrations: 5 test item concentrations in a geometric series with a separation factor of 2, were tested as follows: 100 - 200 - 400 - 800 - 1600 mg/L. The test item concentrations were selected based on the results of a non-GLP preliminary range finding test. For results, see Annex I.

Control: Dilution water (as specified in Table 3) without test item incubated under the same conditions as the test groups.
Test method: The study was performed under semi-static conditions, with a renewal of the test solutions after 24 hours.
Test duration: 48 hours
Test vessels: Glass beakers (4 (ID) x 7 (H) cm), 50 mL capacity, loosely covered with watch glasses
Test volume: 20 mL
Dilution water: ASTM very soft water was used with regard to its low hardness. The test item was not soluble in other (harder) waters.
