Conclusions:
Tetraesters of pentaerythritol with 2- methylpropanoic acid and 3,5,5-trimethyl-hexanoic acid was determined not to auto-ignite below 400 °C.
Executive summary:

EC Method A.15 (2012) - The auto-ignition temperature was determined using the method described in BS 4056. A known quantity of Tetraesters of pentaerythritol with 2-methylpropanoic acid and 3,5,5-trimethyl-hexanoic acid was injected into a heated open Erlenmeyer flask containing air at 400 °C. The contents of the flask were observed in a darkened room for five minutes following addition of a sample or until ignition occurred. Ignition was not observed within five minutes, so the test was repeated with 5 different sample volumes ranging from 70-1000 µL. The test was conducted at 1014 mbar.
