Additional information

Three EC50 are available for three different trophic levels (fish, crustacean and algae). Two EC10/NOEC are available for two different trophic levels, including the most sensitive to the acute toxicity test.

EC50 fish > 10.2 mg/L

EC50 crustacean = 10.1 mg/L

EC50 algae >4 mg/L

The most sensitive trophic level to acute toxicity is either the algae or the crustacean, but not the fish.

EC10 algae = 2.2 mg/L (chronic)

EC10 crustacean = 0.075 mg/L (chronic)

Conclusion on classification

Classification according to regulation EC 1272/2008:

N-nitrosodiphenyl amine is not rapidly biodegradable and a chronic toxicity study on invertebrates indicates an EC10 of 0.075 mg/L. N-nitrosodiphenylamine is therefore aquatic chronic category 1: very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.
