Description of key information

The test item is a honey coloured clear viscous liquid having no melting point above – 20 °C and which boils under decomposition at 240 °C. The substance has a low vapour pressure of approximately 0.006 Pa at 25 °C and the flash point is approximately 202 °C at atmospheric conditions. Auto-ignition occurs at 420 °C (decomposition products) and the relative density at 20 °C is approximately 1. The substance’s partition coefficient octanol / water (log Pow) and water solubility could not be determined experimentally due to surface active properties (surface tension: 28.5 mN/m) and therefore QSAR estimation is used. The estimated log Pow is 3.98 (KOWWIN v1.68) and results in an estimated water solubility of 0.59 mg/L (WSKOWWIN v1.42) at 20 °C.
