Additional information

The potential of 16alpha-hydroxyprednisolone to readily biodegrade was assessed in a Closed Bottle Test performed according to the OECD guideline 301 D with prednisolone, an analogue of 16alpha-hydroxyprednisolone. This read across approach was supported by a QSAR prediction of the ready biodegradability of 16alpha-hydroxyprednisolone using the computer program EPISUITE, based on ultimate survey model (Biowin3) and MITI linear and non linear models (Biowin5 and Biowin6).

Based on the study and the the Biowin calculation 16alpha-hydroxyprednisolone is not deemed to be readily biodegradable.
