Administrative data

Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the physicochemical properties of the substance indicate that it can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption
Justification for type of information:
BCZT is an inorganic substance. In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, No 7.8, the partition coefficient study (n-octanol/water) does not need to be conducted as the substance is inorganic. The scientific background is that determination of the partition coefficient n-octanol/water (log Pow = P-value) applies only for organic substances.
In accordance with
- column 2 of REACH Annex VIII, No. 9.3.1 as well as Annex IX, Numbers 9.3.2 and 9.3.3
- in conjunction with the fact that barium titanium trioxide is inorganic the test for adsorption/desorption as to Annex IX of REACH, No. 9.3.3 is not required.
