Description of key information

Adsorption and desorption of 2 -ethylhexanoic acid, copper salt in the environment are most accurately evaluated by separately assessing the fate of its moieties copper cations and 2-ethylhexanoate anions. The partitioning of copper in different environmental compartments is quantified with a log Kp(sediment/freshwater) of 4.39, a log Kp (suspended matter/freshwater) of 4.48 and a logKp (soil/porewater) of 3.33. However, significant adsorption to the solid soil phase is not expected for the readily biodegradable 2-ethylhexanoate anion.
