Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Name:
N-(2-(4-amino-N-ethyl-m-toluidino)ethyl)methanesulphonamide sesquisulphate
Type of composition:
boundary composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: particulate/powder
Reference substance:
N-(2-(4-amino-N-ethyl-m-toluidino)ethyl)methanesulphonamide sesquisulphate
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The PBT assessment of the substance is based on the criteria set out in the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment” (ECHA, 2017).

Persistency assessment

One OECD 301 screening study is available investigating the ready biodegradability of the substance. After 28 d the substance reached a degradation of 11 and 20%. Thus, the substance does not fulfill the criteria for ready biodegradability and is therefore considered to be potentially P/vP.

Bioaccumulation

The substance has an measured log Pow of < -5.1 at 19.9 °C (OECD 107, estimation method). Therefore, the substance does not qualify as vB/B, based on the screening criterion (log Pow > 4.5).

Toxicity

The available effect concentration for short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates are > 0.1 mg/L. Therefore, the substance does not meet the criteria set out in Annex XIII of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 and it is concluded that the substance is not T.

In conclusion, the substance is not PBT/vPvB.
