key study
Study period:
02 March - 09 May 2017
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids))
Deviations:
no

yes (incl. QA statement)
Contact with:
powdered cellulose
Sample tested:
other: 2:1 sample-to-cellulose ratio
Parameter:
preliminary test
Remarks on result:
other: The test item could not be ignited in preliminary test.

Preliminary Test:

The test item/cellulose mixture did not ignite and no flame was observed. During the ignite phase the test item get black.

The following burning times were obtained for the cellulose/reference item mixture and cellulose pure:

cellulose/reference item mixture: 100 sec

cellulose pure: 302 sec

Due to no reaction of the test item/cellulose mixture was observed during these preliminary tests no main test was performed.

Results:

From the result of the preliminary tests (the test item could not be ignited) it can be concluded that diphosphoric acid, compound with 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine (1:2) is not an oxidizing substance.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Diphosphoric acid, compound with 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine (1:2) (CAS 13518-93-9; EC 236-860-0) is considered to be inert in terms of oxidizing properties, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.

Description of key information

Oxidising properties: not an oxidising substance (EU Method A.17, GLP)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

The oxidizing properties of diphosphoric acid, compound with 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine (1:2) (CAS 13518-93-9; EC 236-860-0) was evaluated in a study conducted according to EU Method A.17 and GLP (Wagner-Rivas V, 2017). From the result of the preliminary tests (the test item could not be ignited) it can be concluded that diphosphoric acid, compound with 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine (1:2) is not an oxidizing substance. Diphosphoric acid, compound with 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine (1:2) is considered to be inert in terms of oxidizing properties, according to the criteria as described in the guideline.
