Relevant effects of soluble iron salts to aquatic microorganisms were not identified. For 2-ethylhexanoate, EC10 (71.7 mg/L) and EC50 (112.1 mg/L) values were derived after 17 hours of exposure of Pseudomonas putida. Thus, 2-ethylhexanoic acid, iron salt appears to have some potential for toxicity to aquatic microorganisms.
