Description of key information

Aquatic toxicity studies with manganese neodecanoate are not available. In the assessment of manganese neodecanoate, read-across to the assessment entities soluble manganese substances and neodecanoic acid is applied since the ions of manganese neodecanoate determine its fate and toxicity in the environment. Reliable data indicate that the moiety of ecotoxicological concern are manganese cations though manganese is an essential trace nutrient. The lowest acute effect concentration is the 96-h LC50 of 3.17 mg Mn/L for Oncorhynchus mykiss whereas the 96-h LL50 for toxicity of neodecanoic acid to Oncorhynchus mykiss is > 100 mg/L.
