Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Aquatic toxicity studies of manganese neodecanoate are not available. Thus, read-across to the assessment entities soluble manganese substances and neodecanoate is applied since manganese cations and neodecanoate anions determine its fate and toxicity in the environment. Reliable data indicate that the moiety of ecotoxicological concern are manganese cations even though manganese has a low potential for toxicity to aquatic microorganisms based on an EC50 > 1000 mg/L and a NOEC of 560 mg/Lmanganese sulphate (corresponding to an EC50 and NOEC of > 325.1 mg Mn/L and 182 mg Mn/L, respectively). In addition, an inhibition of nitrification was not observed at the highest test concentration of neodecanoic acid resulting in a NOEC ≥ 200 mg/L. Thus, manganese neodecanoate appears to have a low potential for toxicity to microorganisms.
