Conclusion on classification

Refer to the summary table in the Aquatic toxicity endpoint summary (6.1 endpoint summary). Aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia Magna) were found to be the most sensitive species relevant for classification for environmental hazards. The 48-hour EC50 for immobilisation in Daphnia was 3.94 mg/L; with reference to Part 4 of Annex 1 to the CLP regulation (Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 including amendments to May 2017), 2-(Allyloxymethyl) acrylic acid methyl ester therefore does not meet the criteria for classification as Category Acute 1 (48-hour EC50 ≤ 1 mg/L).

Consideration of the chronic classification is based Daphnia study. The 48-hour EC50 in Daphnia was 3.94 mg/L, 2-(Allyloxymethyl) acrylic acid methyl ester meets the criteria for classification as Category Chronic 2 (48-hour EC50 > 1 to ≤ 10 mg/L). The hazard statement is "H411: Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects".
