Reference
Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties
Justification for type of information:
The structure of the test item was assessed for chemical groups that imply explosive properties. Examples of such groups are C-C unsaturated, C-metal, N-metal, contiguous oxygen atoms, contiguous nitrogen atoms, N-halogens, O-halogens, N-O. Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the explosive properties has been predicted negative.

Description of key information

This study does not need to be conducted if there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties. This substance does not contain any chemical groups as indicated in Table R.7.1-28 associated with explosive properties as mentioned in Chapter R.7. a of the ECHA endpoint specific guidance (2008), and therefore a study is not required.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the above mentioned result, classification according to the CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC is not necessary.
