Description of key information

The mean of flash point of the test substance was determined to be 216.5 ± 2.5°C, according to EU Method A.9.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The mean flash point of the verification standard, tetradecane, was determined to be 110.9 ± 0.6°C, comparing well with the known flash point of 112 ± 4.9°C for this compound, and confirmed the proper operation of the flash point tester. Corrected flash point of 3 replicates for HiMo LAB were 214.2, 219.2 and 216.2 °C. The mean of flash point of the test substance was determined to be 216.5 ± 2.5°C. Data from Hunstman, 2013 study.
