Administrative data

Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient and the adsorption potential of this substance is related to this parameter
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference
Endpoint:

Guideline:
EU Method A.8 (Partition Coefficient - HPLC Method)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
HPLC method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Analytical method:
high-performance liquid chromatography
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
2.13
Temp.:
23 °C
pH:
6.077
Remarks on result:
other: Value is weighted average of constituent ranges.
Details on results:
Approximately 14 peaks were determined with peak areas ranging from 0.89 to 19.47%.

The Log Kow values of the test substance was:

72% of peaks have a Log Kow in the range < 0.3 to 2.03.

20% of peaks have a Log Kow in the range 2.98 to 4.49.

8% of peaks have a Log Kow in the range 4.69 to 6.21.

The weighted average Log Kow of the above values was 2.13. The majority of the peak areas had Log Kow values < 2.03.

Conclusions:
The substance is a UVCB and as such ranges of Log Kow values were provided. The weighted average of the Log Kow values of the various peaks was determined to be 2.13 at 23°C.
