Administrative data

First-aid measures

General information:       In all cases keep  the victim at physical and mental rest and warm. In all serious events and always in case of eye contact, seek for medical help.

Inhalation:              Breake the exposure, transfer the victim to the fresh air, apply artificial respiration, if the victim is not breathing.

Skin contact:              Take off immediately contaminated clothing and flush affected area with plenty of water (preferably lukewarm).

Eye contact:              Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Immediately call in ophtalmologist.

Ingestion:              Rinse the mouth with clean water, give max. 0.5 l water to drink, do not induce vomiting, seek for medical help.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:       The product is non-flammable. Use any suitable extinguishing media in adaption to materials stored in the immediate neighbourhood.

Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons:              -

Special exposure hazards arising from the substance or preparation itself, combustion products, resulting gases:              -

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:       Self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.

Other information:              Substance presents no special fire hazard.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:       Avoid inhalation of dust. Use personal protective equipment (see chapter 8).

Environmental precautions:              -

Methods for cleaning up:       Collect in the designated closed containers. Residue rinse with water.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each Manufacturing site.

Handling:       Reduce direct contact with substance. Use personal protective equipment (see s.8). Keep principles of personal hygiene. Avoid dusting.

Storage:       Store in original closed containers in dry areas at temperature up 30 °C. Product is non-caking at storage.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure reduction (technical measures):       Avoid generation of dust.

Personal protective equipment:

      Respiratory protection:       if dust may be generated, wear dust filter mask,

      Hand protection:       protective gloves,

      Eye protection:       tight protective goggles,

      Skin protection:       protective clothing, apron, boots, cap.

Other information:       Do not eat, drink or smoke during the work and observe the personal hygiene principles. Wash with warm water and soap after handling.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions of stability:       Stable under ordinary conditions of use and storage (see section 7).

Conditions to avoid:       Moisture and air. Wet product oxidizes easily to sodium sulphate.

Materials to avoid:       Acids. By contact with acids easily decomposes.

Hazardous decomposition products:       By contact with acids liberates sulphur dioxide.

Disposal considerations

Disposal methods of the substance/preparation:       Dissolve or mix the material with a combustible solvent and incinerate at a reserved and approved place in accordance with regulations.

Disposal methods of the contaminated packaging:       Incinerate paper sacks in incinerating plant for danger  waste. Big-bags - reversing containers.
