The melting point of the test substance was determined under GLP according to OECD 102 / EU A1 guideline,using differential scanning calorimetry. No melting point was measured by DSC above -80 °C. However, since melting may be hindered at low temperatures due to supercooling it should only be assumed that no melting point exists above -20 °C.

Additional information
A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to OECD 102/EC A.1 method, is available. Therefore, it is considered as a key study. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is used for determination (equipment: DSC: Mettler-Toledo). The test item and the reference are cooled down to -80 ºC at a constant heating rate in a defined atmosphere (nitrogen). Open crucibles are used as containers for the test item and as empty reference crucible. No endothermal effect below ambient temperature is recorded. No melting point is measured by DSC above -80 ºC. However, since melting may be hindered at low temperatures due to supercooling it should only be assumed that no melting point exists above -20 ºC.
