The test item showed a second endothermic signal in the temperature range of 160 – 240 °C, which can be assigned to the boiling of the test item. For the correction of the boiling temperature to normal pressure the test item was assigned to chemical group 3 (e.g. Amines). According to a correction valueφ= 5.25 was used for a temperature of 220 °C.

The lowest measured onset temperature is corrected to the normal pressure to be 222.71 °C and the highest onset temperature to be 222.84 °C. The corrected temperatures of the boiling point do not differ more than 0.5 K from their mean value of 222.78 °C. The test item has a boiling point under atmospheric pressure (1013 hPa) of 222.8°C. No further thermal effects were observed up to the test end temperature of 500 °C.

 

Capillary Method

The molten test item was subject to a second test series according to the capillary method. The boiling point was determined to be 222.4°C after correction for air pressure (1013 hPa).

The boiling point of the test item was determined to be 222.4 °C after correction for air pressure (1013 hPa).
Executive summary:

A study was conducted according to OECD test guideline 103, Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.2 and EPA OCSPP test guideline 830.7220 to determine the boiling point of the test item using differential scanning calorimetry (reference 4.3 -1). The test item was weighed out into an aluminium crucible under an inert atmosphere (nitrogen). Two tests with about 14 – 16 mg of the test item were performed. As reference crucible, an empty aluminium crucible was used. At ambient conditions, the test item is solid. Therefore, the tests were started at ambient temperature. The temperature was then increased up to 500 °C at a constant heating rate of 10 K/min. The molten test item was subject to a second test series according to the capillary method. The boiling point was determined to be 222.4 °C after correction for air pressure (1013 hPa).
