The test item was considered as surface active material as it surface tension is lower than 60 mN/m at 20°C.

Conclusions:
The surface tension of 1g/l test item solution at 20°C is 58.6 mN/m.
Executive summary:

The test item surface tension was determined using the ring method according to recognised guidelines and under GLP. No deviation from the guidelines was observed during the study.

Before measurements with the test item, the reliability of the apparatus was checked with reference items. The results obtained were in accordance with the theoretical values, therefore the apparatus was considered conform for the test item surface tension determination.

The surface tension of 1g/l test item solution at 20°C is 58.6 mN/m. The test item was considered as surface active material as it surface tension is lower than 60 mN/m at 20°C.

Description of key information

The surface tension of the test item was determined in a key study of Klimisch validity one, performed according to recognised guideline and under GLP.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
58.6
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
